Bitcoin was lower by 4.7% and Ethereum by 6.2%. At one point intraday losses for the pair were 10%. Bitcoin has encountered resistance at 45000. Ethereum has short term support at 2120.
Secondary coins had a poor day, extending losses for the week. Theta was down 13.2%, while Polygon, Fantom, Decentraland and The Sandbox all fell over 11%.
Polygon encounters resistance at 1.0 and Fantom at 0.55, while Cosmos also finds resistance at 12. Weaker techncial stocks such as BNB, Polygon Theta, now also encounter medium term downtrends.
Crypto related equities also extended losses for the week, with Coinbase down a further 3%, and testing support at 150, with Microstrategy down 7.9% after recent strong gains.
Bloomberg analysts suggest there is a 90% chance of a Bitcoin ETF being approved by 10th January.
